What a week. I’ve been in training camp since last Friday, and it’s been a ride. I’ll write a separate blog about that, though. This is a testament to our God and what it takes to hand it all over to Him.

Then He said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23

When we hand our lives to God, our lives are no longer our own. Every single aspect of us is now placed in the hands of God and there is no part that we can hold onto for ourselves. Right now, I am 30,000 ft above the great state of Florida (whoop whoop!!) and only one more flight and a bus ride away from Nicoya, Costa Rica. Ten minutes ago, I felt like death was right around the corner. I’ve been up for 24 hours straight now, running on nothing but some Chex-Mix and a Cliff bar, and felt like I was going drop at any moment. Then, I look out my window and see the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen. To try to put into words what this looked like, just imagine the most vivid reds and yellows for as far as you can see – then multiply it. As the golden sun shone directly onto my face, I felt a sense of peace wash over me instantly. God, You are the LIVING GOD!!! You are HERE!!! You have us in Your hands and You will deliver us through everything that is meant for Your glory. What a God we serve, I will never be able to comprehend His divine goodness.

God, I ask that you give every one of us the courage to choose complete and total surrender for the sake of the Gospel. Your ways are better and Your name will be praised. If You gave Your life for Your name, help us to be just as willing. You are holy, honorable, and worthy of every praise. I love you & thank You for everything, my life is entirely in Your hands forever & ever. Amen.
